Former World Boxing Union featherweight champion Choi Tseveenpurev (31-5, 21 KOs) scored one of the best wins of his career when he defeated former world IBO featherweight champion Jackson “Action Jackson” Asiku (26-5-0) by ten round decision at York Hall, Benthal Green, London, United Kingdom on Saturday.
The 39-year-old Mongolian also held the WBF 126 pound championship defeating David Kiilu in 2006 to capture that championship. He won the WBU title in 2008 by defeating Derry Mathews by KO in five rounds.
Asiku had defeated the world class Heriberto Ruiz to win the IBO featherweight title by KO in eight rounds in 2009 but lost to current WBC champion Jhonny Gonzalez in 2010 by KO in six rounds. Jackson was born in Uganda but turned professional in Australia where he has been based since 2000.
