Hall of Fame fight broadcaster Colonel Bob Sheridan will call Wednesday’s eagerly awaited heavyweight showdown between the explosive punching WBO #3 David “Tuaman” Tua (50-3-1, 43 KOs) who will punch it out against the granite chinned Nigerian Friday “The 13th” Ahunanya (24-5-3, 13 KOs) over twelve rounds with the WBO Asia Pacific title up for grabs at the Trusts Stadium in Auckland.

Tua, who has defeated four world champions, weighed in today at 239 lbs and Ahunanya weighed 229 lbs. Ahunanya is well known to New Zealand fight fans having scored a twelfth round stoppage win over Kiwi Shane Cameron in 2007. The Las Vegas based Nigerian was inactive during 2009 but scored a ten round decision over Alonzo Butler in his last ring appearance in 2008. Tua stopped Cameron in two rounds in October 2009 in his last ring appearance.
In the main supporting bout Australian heavyweight Brett Smith weighed 227 lbs and his opponent Israel Garcia 260 lbs.
The show will be promoted by Tua’s promoter Cedric Kushner (Gotham Promotions) and David Higgins (Duco Events). Televised on Maori Television Network (Throughout New Zealand) and Fox Main Event Per-Per-View Television Network (Throughout Australia).
