Former world heavyweight challenger David “Tuaman” Tua ( 50-3-1, 43 KOs) will clash with Friday “The 13th” Ahunanya (24-5-3, 13 KOs) at the Trusts Stadium Arena, Auckland New Zealand on March 13. The 37-year-old Tua scored an impressive knockout victory in two rounds over world rated Shane Cameron in October 2009 in his most recent ring outing.
Tua has also scored a TKO9 over Fres Oquendo (2002), KO1 over former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer (2002), KO1 John Ruiz (1996). The Tuaman dropped twelve round decisions to Lennox Lewis in an IBF/WBC title bout (2000) and Chris Byrd (2001).
The 39-year-old Nigerian-born Ahunanya, who is based in Las Vegas, scored a ten round points decision over Alonzo Butler in his last ring appearance in 2008. His most impressive win was over Shane Cameron who he stopped in twelve rounds in (2007). Ahunanya has lost to Alexander Povetkin in (2006) and Sultan Ibragimov in (2005).
