TwinkleFingers taps out of DKP contract

By Phil Doherty

Miami-based southpaw light middleweight Joey “TwinkleFingers” Hernandez (23-1-1, 13 KOs) announced his return to free agency yesterday after getting out of his promotional contract with Don King Productions. Hernandez turns twenty nine later this month and hadn’t fought since last November–a ten-round unanimous decision victory against James Winchester. Despite the extended layoff, TwinkleFingers still finds himself ranked ninth in the IBF and twelfth in the WBC at light middleweight (super welterweight). Hernandez credited his attorney Andrew Horn with facilitating the promotional release and told Fightnews: “I’m officially a free man and now it’s back to the drawing board to get a big one. Now that I’m free I’m willing to accept any big challenges.”
