Two decisions changed in Mexico

Bad night for official scorers last Saturday in Mexico. Not only did ringside officials blow the decision in the WBC Youth bantamweight title fight between Tomoki Kameda and Stephane Jamoye Saturday night in Mazatlan (originally announced as a draw, then amended an hour later to a win for Kameda) as previously reported, officials also botched the result of Saturday’s IBF featherweight eliminator between Franky Leal and Miguel “Ranita” Gonzzlez in Mexicali. Despite suffering two knockdowns in the first round, hometown favorite Leal was announced as controversial a split decision winner. That result was later changed to a draw.
