WBA flyweight world champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez and former super flyweight champion Tomas “Gusano” Rojas will share the billboard next Saturday at the Palenque de la Feria in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Both are preparing for major world title fights in September, as long as they step out of the ring with their hand raised. Marquez (33-2-0, 25 KOs) will face Filipino Fernando “Gatillero” Lumacad (26-3-3, 11 KOs) in a 10-round fight at super flyweight. It appears Marquez will face WBO flyweight champion Bryan Viloria to unify belts on October 29th. Rojas (38-13-1, 25 KOs) will take on Colombian Manuel de los Reyes Herrera (19-9-1, 13 KOs) in a bantamweight bout. Rojas is in line to face WBC bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka of Japan. Also seeing action will be local favorite Ricardo “Pelon” Dominguez (35-8-2, 22 KOs) facing ex-champ Gilberto “Flaco” Gonzalez (18-2-0, 14 KOs).
