Uicab retains NABF belt

Wilberth “Hurricane” Uicab (29-5-1, 18 KOs) retained his NABF flyweight title when William de Sousa (15-13-1, 13 KOs) didn’t come out for round three on Friday night at the Gimnasio Sport City in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Official time was :10 of round three. Uicab was in command from the beginning and landed some heavy blows in round two.

Next up for Uicab is a clash for the WBC Silver title against Edrin Dapudong on September 17 in Cancun.

In the co-feature, Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson (17-1, 16 KOs) kept his Mundo Hispano featherweight belt with an eighth round TKO over Lizardo “Pajarito” Moreno (37-9-2, 28 KOs). The Moreno corner angrily protested the stoppage. Thompson scores two early knockdowns in the fight.

Hot super flyweight prospect Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras scored a fifth round TKO over José “Pepe” Barrero to move to 17-0 with 15 KOs. Berrero falls to 4-3-2.

Super featherweight Antonio “Ollita” Chuc (8-7, 2 KOs) defeated Ángel “Chacha” Bautista (1-2-1, 0 KOs) by split decision in an eight round war.
