Uicab retains silver belt

WBC silver flyweight champion Wilberth”Hurricane” Uicab (32-5-1, 18 KOs) won a majority decision over Silvio Oltenau (11-5,5 KOs) to retain his title on Saturday night at Playa Mamita’s in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Super welterweight Roberto “Sugar” Ventura (7-6, 7 KOs) surprisingly stopped Antonio Mesquita (35-2, 27 KOs) in the sixth round.

Cruiserweight Shawn Cox (14-1, 13 KOs) of Barbados stopped Francisco Alvarez (12-3, 10 KOs) of Puerto Rico in the third round.

Bantamweight Naciff “Chatito” Castillo (10-4, 3 KOs) stopped Giovani Trujillo in round three.

Super lightweight José Emilio Perea logged a fifth round stoppage of Manuel “Mamba” Garcia.

Middleweight Mauricio “León La Mole” Pérez scored a third round TKO over José “Lobo” Ramírez.

Pro debuting super featherweight Jonathan “Maestro” Heredia won a four round unanimous decision over Erick “Dandy” Lugo.
