Unbeaten super feathers replace injured Gonzales
Tom Brown, Goossen Tutor Promotions matchmaker, has added a special 8-round super featherweight attraction between two undefeated prospects Guy Robb (7-0, 3 KOs) and Joel Diaz Jr. (6-0, 5 KOs) after Brandon Gonzales pulled out of his January 20 fight against Caleb Truax due to a leg injury. The card, which will be held at the Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. and broadcast on SHOWTIME, is headlined by a world title bout between WBA super bantamweight world champion Rico Ramos (20-0, 11 KOs), who takes on WBA interim champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (8-0, 6 KOs). Opening the ShoBox telecast, undefeated Matthew Villanueva (6-0-1, 6 KOs) will fight Mike Ruiz (8-1-1, 3 KOs) in an 8-round junior bantamweight bout.
In a non-televised undercard bout, Javier Molina (9-1, 4 KOs), a 2008 U.S. Olympian will try to get back in the win column in a 6-round welterweight bout. There will also be two other 4-round bouts featuring heavyweights and jr. middleweights.
