Krzysztof Zimnoch (16-0, 11 KOs), who arrived on the professional scene after beating Deontay Wilder in the first round of the Amateur Wold Championships in Chicago, is getting ready for his underground test against former Canadian Olympian Artur Binkowski (16-3, 11 KOs).
For Zimnoch, fighting Binkowski could be his last test before an all-Polish, very highly anticipated heavyweight showdown against Artur “The Pin” Szpilka (16-0, 12 KOs), who twice knocked out Mike Mollo on ESPN in fight of the year candidates.
Binkowski’s boxing highnote includes a 2007 knockout on ShoBox against then highly regarded Raphael Butler, after being down three times in the first round. Binkowski had also his Hollywood moment when he played John “Corn” Griffin in the highly acclaimed “Cinderella Man” movie, opposing Oscar winner Russell Crowe.
The “Undeground Boxing Show” in Wieliczka, Poland (October 19) with six other fights including #6 WBO, #12 IBF cruiserweight Krzysztof Głowacki (19-0, 12 KOs) against former champ Richard Hall (30-13, 28 KOs), will take place in a 700-year-old salt mine and is promoted by Tomasz Babilonski’s “Babilon Promotion” in association with Ulrich Knockout Promotions.
