Rumors are circulating that 2008 Beijing Olympics heavyweight gold medalist for Russia Rakhim Chakhkiev is close to signing a deal with famed German promotional powerhouse Universum Box-Promotion. According to several sources, Chakhkiev will be in attendance for tomorrow’s Universum boxing event in Bremen, Germany, and will later have a meeting with Klaus-Peter Kohl to discuss a possible contract. Chakhiev, 26, was also a silver medalist at 2007 Chicago world championship and as well as 2007 Russian heavyweight champion.
