Valdez back in action!

Bantamweight contender Alejandro Valdez (20-3-2, 14 KOs) will return to action on June 6th against the hard hitting Genaro Camargo (24-6, 17 KOs) at the Explanada Tecate in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, in a bout featured on Azteca TV. Valdez is coming off a unanimous decision loss against WBC champion Hozumi Hasegawa last October in Tokyo, Japan. “I had my opportunity to win a world championship, and although the results didn’t favor me, I have the same triumphant mentality and the desire to return to the world level. I know this fight will help me to reach my goal,” said Valdez. Also on the card is flyweight star Hernán “Tyson” Márquez (22-0, 17 KOs) against Carlos “Polllito” Bañuelos (14-1, 9 KOs) and super bantamweight Giovanni Caro (13-6-4, 11 KOs) against German “Panteonero” Meraz (21-12-1, 9 KOs).

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
