Two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez turned pro on Saturday night with a second round TKO over Angel Prado (1-2, 1 KO) in a featherweight match on Saturday night at the Centro de Usos Múltiples in Hermosillo, Mexico. Valdez looked sensational in dropping Prado, then getting the referee’s stoppage moments later. Valdez is a two-time Mexican Olympian who is considered one of the best amateurs in the history of Mexican boxing.
In the main event, former two-time world champion Ulises “Archi” Solis scored a seventh round KO over Jesus “Azul” Iribe. It was Solis’ first fight in 14 months after recovering from two operations to repair a broken jaw which Solis alleges was caused when he was punched by Canelo Alvarez.
