Lightweight contender Antonio DeMarco (22-1-1, 16 KOs) will not be fighting WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero on December 12. The #1 ranked DeMarco will fighting on Showtime, Oct 31 in Las Vegas,Nevada at the Treasure Island Hotel against the WBC #3 ranked Jose Alfaro. The card is being promoted by Don King in association with Gary Shaw Productions.

Sources are saying that Edwin Valero (25-0, 25 KOs) of Venezuela will start training Monday in preparation for his first title defense against against an opponent to be named. Details are still being worked out to finalize the bout but it would take place December 12th at the El Nuevo Circo, in Caracas, Valenzuela.
