Valero-Pitalua Purse Bid!

Promociones Deportivas won the right to promote the WBC lightweight world title fight between Edwin Valero and Antonio Pitalua at a purse bid that has just been held at this WBC head office in Mexico City. Taking part at the bid were Golden Boy Promotions, OPI2000 (Salvatore Cherchi) and Promociones Deportivas (Ricardo Maldonado). The offer from Ricardo Maldonado was $211,000 (USD), Cherchi’s offer was $197,777 and Golden Boy offered $151,000.
