Unofficially lightweight Rolando Reyes (31-4-2, 20 KOs) is being mentioned as a possible challenger in the first defense of WBC lightweight world champion Edwin Valero. It is expected that a decision on that fight will be made during the week. Valero is planning to defend his WBC crown during December in Caracas, Venezuela.
