Costa Rican WBA interim super featherweight world champion Bryan “Tiquito” Vasquez (33-1, 17 KOs) is poised for his first title defense on Saturday against Mexican challenger Jose Felix Jr (26-0-1, 21 KOs) on Saturday’s Pacquiao-Bradley PPV card at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday to try to get a victory not only for me but for my country,” stated Vasquez. “I will give it my best. This is a great opportunity and a dream to be here.” Vasquez was trained for about two months in Los Angeles with trainer Joe Hernandez while Felix trained in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
It won’t be an easy defense for Vasquez. In fact, sportsbooks have made him a decided underdog. The bout will open the PPV telecast.
