Vázquez, Bedak presser

Participants for the upcoming pay-per-view titled ‘Undefeated Champions’ gathered for their final presser today in Puerto Rico. The event will take place this Saturday, May 29th at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. PR Best Boxing (Iván and Peter Rivera) in association with All Star Boxing’s Félix ‘Tutico’ Zabala will promote.

The main event will feature WBO junior featherweight champion Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. of Puerto Rico (18-0-1, 15 KOs) against unbeaten Universum promoted Zsolt Bedak (15-0, 5 KOs) of Hungary in a 12-round world title main event. The 12 round world title co-feature will have WBO super featherweight champion Román ‘Rocky’ Martínez (23-0-1, 14 KOs) of Puerto Rico defending against Gonzalo Munguía (17-6-3, 13 KOs) of Nicaragua. Several other bouts are scheduled on the undercard.

The following statements were made at the press conference.

Iván Rivera (President of PR Best Boxing): “We are excited about this upcoming event and expect a full house. We know that Puerto Rican fans will come out in large numbers to support their champions Vázquez Jr. and Martínez.”

Wilfredo Vázquez Jr.: “I am ready to defend my title and put on a spectacular performance in front of my people. I am thankful to my father (Wilfredo Vázquez Sr) and the rest of my team for preparing me %100 both physically and mentally.”

Román ‘Rocky’ Martínez: “I just want the night of the fight to arrive as soon as possible. I am in tremendous shape and ready to defend my title. Mungía has been talking alot and I will be waiting for him Saturday night. The ring is where the truth will be revealed.” (Mungía and his team will arrive tomorrow)

Zsolt Bedak: “I had an excellent training camp. I am ready to put on an outstanding performance and return home with the title.”
