Wilfredo “WV2” Vazquez Jr. returns home to Kissimmee September 20

All Star Boxing third installment of their Boxeo TELEMUNDO Ford fall series starts on Friday, September 20, 2013 from the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida in a event being billed as “The Homecoming.” In the main event former WBO world champion Wilfredo “Papito” Vazquez, Jr. (22-3-1, 19 KOs) of Bayamon, Puerto Rico returns home to Kissimmee after three years to face undefeated prospect Guillermo “Borrego” Avila (13-0, 10 KOs) of Jamay, Jalisco, Mexico in a bout scheduled for twelve Rounds for the World Boxing Organization International super bantamweight title.

This will be a do or die fight for Vazquez, Jr., 29, coming off an unexpected controversial split decision loss last April 6 in Macao, China against Yasutaka Ishimoto. This return fight will mark the 14th time that the former champion has fought in the Florida city and his 16th appearance on the Boxeo TELEMUNDO series where he is a fan favorite. Avila, 21, is an undefeated hungry young prospect from Jalisco who will be making in his US debut and needs to look impressive.

Also on the card is Wilfredo Vazquez’ younger son jr. flyweight Israel “El Heredero” Vazquez (8-0-2, 6 KOs), plus local prospects Philip Penson, Craig Duncan, Carlos Lacayo, Angel Albelo and the highly anticipated pro debut of Alex “Flash” Roman.

Doors open 7:30 PM, First bell at 8:30 PM. Telemundo Network available in HD will televise main event starting at 11:35 PM. Tuto Zabala, Jr., All Star Boxing, Inc is presenting the show.
