Veerapol, Yodkhunpol win!

By Damrong Simakajornboon

Two-time world bantamweight champion Veerapol Sahaprom (66-4-2, 47 KOs) won a unanimous decision over ABCO #13 Alex BS on Thursday at Meanburi Market in Bangkok, Thailand. The experienced Thai fighter mostly controlled the show, attacking and weakening the Indonesian with his tough bodyshots, before he easily scored a unanimous decision in a six round non-title bout. Veerapol, 41 years old, is now aiming to challenge for the world title again, particularly against WBC 122lb title holder Toshiaki Nishioka of Japan. But he should carefully consider if any 40+ bantamweight should fight at the world championship level.

In other action, Yodkhunpol Nakornluang (18-1,10 KOs) successfully kept his ABCO bantamweight crown as he stopped Indonesian #7 Panca Silaban (reportedly 24-13-3, 12 KOs). Yodkhunpol, rated WBO top-15, dropped his opponent once in round two and mostly controlled the action until he impressively destroyed Silaban with his three consecutive bodyshots, scoring a KO at 1:47 of round nine.

ABCO#8 feather Chaiyong Sithsaithong (19-5-3,15 KOs) won a six round unanimous over Thongcharoen Patavikorngym.

And ABCO#15 superfly Sugar Ray Nakornluang (3-0,1KO) dropped Chatchai Por Thitima twice and scored a KO in round two. This event was promoted by Nakornluang Boxing Promotion.

In other action, WBA #4 minimum Kwanthai Chor Nor Pattalung (27-0-1,15 KOs) stopped Johan Wahyudi in round three of a six round non-title bout. Also, PABA#2 fly Fonluang Sor Tanapinyo stopped an Indonesian whose name reported as Ricky Akan in round three. This event was promoted by Galaxy Boxing Promotion.
