On Saturday at La Villita’s Maverick Plaza in San Antonio, TX, Hector “Macho” Camacho Jr. made his long awaited return to the ring and closed the show in dramatic fashion by stopping awkward southpaw fighter JD Charles in the first round of a scheduled eight round contest. The San Juan, Puerto Rico native sat down on his punches and delivered a devastating body shot to end the fight with one minute remaining in the first stanza. After the contest, the 16-year veteran issued a challenge to all of the top fighters in the junior middleweight division.
“You just saw the rededicated version of Camacho Junior,” proclaimed the son of legendary fighter Hector “Macho” Camacho. “I have the talent to give any of the top fighters at 154 pounds a difficult evening and I want to fight the best in the division. I want Canelo, Kirkland, Trout, Bundrage, Martirosyan, Lara…all of them.”
