Villarreal Shocks Roman to Claim WBC Youth Title!

This past Wednesday night a sell out crowd turned out to witness the hugely popular “Battle in The Ballroom” show at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine, CA. Instead California fight fans were treated to a surprising upset as Anthony Villarreal (9-2, 4 KOs) won an eight round split decision victory over the previously undefeated Manny Roman (14-1, 5 KOs). The show, promoted by Roy Englebrecht Events, was their 26th consecutive sellout and featured a main event with no less than a WBC title at stake.
