IBF light flyweight champion Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria will defend his belt for the first time on August 29th, at The Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Cebu City, Philippines. His opponent will be the vastly experienced Luis Alberto Lazarte. Lazarte, 38, is no stranger to title opportunities having challenged no less than five times for titles from minimumweight, to light fly, and flyweight. He is also well traveled, challenging not only in his native Argentina, but also in Thailand and Mexico. Lazarte brings a record of 43-9-1 with 1 No Contest and 18 KOs into his challenge of Viloria, who boasts a 25-2 with 1 No Contest and 15 KOs. Note: Villoria sent in a request to the IBF for August 29 date, however the IBF has not approved that fight yet.
