Australian light heavyweight contender Manny Vlamis (10-2, 7KOs) will have the acid test on Friday night when he will collide with WBA#11 Joel “Two Gunz” Casey (14-8-3, 9KOs) over twelve rounds at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Vlamis brings excellent power to the ring having knocked out his last four opponents including a six round stoppage of classy Mark Flanagan in April. Casey caused a major upset in 2010 when he defeated the former WBA rated 175 pounder Tim Bell.
Leading Victorian Promoter Peter Maniatis said “Joel will be rated in the top ten of the WBA light heavyweights if he can defeat Manny Vlamis. Vlamis can punch but I am confident Casey has the skills to win this fight. Casey proved he can mix it with the best light heavyweights in the world the night he defeated Tim Belll and is in great shape for this fight having had excellent sparring with WBA#14 light middleweight Frank Loporto who will challenge WBA champion Austin Trout on Saturday for the world crown in El Paso, Texas.”
The main supporting bout is to be contested over eight rounds. Light middleweight Michael Zerafa (5-0, 3KOs) will punch it out with Faisal Fayad(5-2) in a Victorian state title bout. Promoter Peter Maniatis.
