Next up for WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward is a SUPER SIX showdown with Jermain Taylor on March 3rd at a location to be determined. Promoter Dan Goossen is shooting for Las Vegas or Oakland as the site. Taylor is not being taken lightly by the Ward Camp, as they believe he was competitive for eleven rounds in both the Froch and Abraham fights, although they have noted (but will not divulge) a certain weakness in Taylor which Ward plans to exploit. “Taylor’s problem was that he stopped improving following winning the title,” said Ward. “I will not repeat this mistake and will fight to continue improving and to stay champion.”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
