Promoter Frank Warren stated today that he made a big offer to Matchroom Sport’s Eddie Hearn for his latest signing Scott Quigg to fight Carl Frampton in September 2013, but Hearn replied saying that a September date was a little too soon for Quigg. Earlier this month Warren said he made a multi-million pound offer to Hearn for Carl Froch to fight WBO light heavyweight Champion Nathan Cleverly only for the offer to be declined.
Warren stated “How can any boxer not be ready for a fight in three months, especially with a contest already scheduled for two weeks? Only yesterday Hearn said in an interview that both fighters wanted it and that it was not the Boxers, but their teams that were preventing it from happening. Well if Frampton wants it, his team want it and, according to Hearn, Quigg wants it also, then what does that tell you?”
Warren is also currently suing Hearn so they are not on the best of terms.
