WBA #13 heavyweight Kauffman returns August 23

WBA #13 ranked heavyweight Travis Kauffman (24-1, 18 KOs) will take Arron Lyons (12-12-1, 9 KOs) in an eight round stay busy bout on August 23 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The show which is promoted by Kings Boxing will be headlined by a ten round Pennsylvania lightweight title bout between undefeated champion Naim Nelson (10-0, 1 KO) defending against Ryan Belasco (18-5-3, 3 KOs).

“I was called to fight Tomasz Adamek but they took Dominick Guinn,” stated Kauffman. “Adamek is a hell of a fighter but I feel I can beat him. I was offered a fight with undefeated WBA #2 ranked Luis Ortiz but it was only four weeks’ notice for very short money. This is a business and the risk outweighed the reward. I am taking this one day at a time, I have had injury problems such as three hand surgeries, and ankle and shoulder problems but now I am completely healthy and ready to look to big things in my future.”

The rest of the card is as follows:

Frankie De Alba (8-1-2, 3 KOs) will take on an opponent to be named in a six round super featherweight bout.

Miguel Cartagena (7-0, 3 KOs) will take on Miguel Eduardo in a four round bantamweight bout.

In four round bouts:

Lamont Capers (1-2) will battle Kamarah Pasley (6-6, 2 KOs) in a cruiserweight fight.

Gerald Smith (3-0, 1 KO) will take on an opponent to be named in a lightweight bout.

Damon Allen (2-0, 1 KO) will battle Samuel Quinones Jr. (2-1, 1 KO) in four round lightweight bout.

Khalib “Big Foot” Whitmore (1-0) battles Richard McCombs (1-4) in a cruiserweight bout.

Tickets are $125 for VIP; $75 for ringside and $45 for general admission. Call 610-587-5950.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
