The WBA Championships Committee has made a call for a purse bid for the mandatory fight between WBA regular welterweight champion Paul Malignaggi and Argentinian interim titleholder Diego Chaves. The minimum bid will be $150,000 with the purse distributed 75% to the champion and 25% for the interim titlist. The purse bid will take place on March 11 at WBA Headquarters in Panama. WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza will preside.
