The 91st annual WBA convention came to a close today in Jakarta, Indonesia. The morning session saw various committee members meeting to fine tune their final reports for the afternoon delivery to the delegate and WBA president Gilberto Mendoza. Those reports were given for the Fedelatin, NABA & Female, Championship committees and the Medical board. Each board and committee are resigned to improve, streamline and continue growth within the WBA and boxing family. President Mendoza praised and thanked all the members for their dedication, commitment and hard work during their stay in Jakarta.
A closing banquet was held in the Golden Ballroom of the Sultan Hotel, complete with more cultural dance performances as well as contemporary music. World class referee Tony Weeks once again thrilled the audience with his musical stylings, accompanying the band on two tunes, and embracing WBA president Mendoza while in song.
Possible sites for next year’s 92nd convention include Bangkok, Thailand as well as Moscow, Russia. Those choices will be assessed as well as others’ proposals heard in the coming months.
