WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza and IBF President Daryl Peoples were both in attendance at the Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe Megapolis in Panama for the weigh-in of Saturday’s world title twinbill featuring fights sanctioned by their respective organizations. Mendoza and Peoples chatted amicably about different future plans for the sport’s growth and sketched some ideas to maintain the sport’s popularity.
Former two-division champ Roberto “La Araña” Vasquez meets John Mark Apolinario for the vacant WBA interim bantamweight belt and IBF light flyweight champ John Riel Casimero faces mandatory challenger Luis Rios.
