WBA KO Drugs in Venezuela Saturday

By Gabriel F. Cordero

Everything is ready for the WBA XXV KO Drugs Festival this Saturday at the Rafael Romero Bolivar Gym in Maracay, Venezuela. Venezuelan WBA super flyweight interim champion Liborio Soliss and WBA interim female featherweight beltholder and top model Ogleidis “La Niña” Suárez will be making the first defenses of their belts against Santiago Acosta and Pamela Benavidez. In addition, another model will see action in Venezuelan Alys “China” Sanchez and the prospect Ismael Sanchez Barroso.

The WBA, chaired by Gilberto Mendoza, recalled that the KO Drugs began in 1993 and is an event that is gaining much support for the youth and children of Latin America. The WBA is happy to return to Venezuela with the KO Drugs program.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
