WBC #2 ranked bantamweight Rolly Lunas (31-8-1, 19KOs) earlier today signed a multi-year managerial agreement with San Diego, CA’s Vince Parra. The Filipino Lunas, who has campaigned for most of his career in Japan and is known there as Rolly Matsushita, is a twenty-nine year old banger who has held the OPBF 118 lbs. title for a number of years. Now in the United States, Lunas is ready to take on the best of the division and is already in talks for his next fight, his first in North America.
Lunas has fought outside of Asia once, in Panama where he challenged current WBA champ Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno with a week’s notice. Lunas suffered a twelve round unanimous decision loss.
Parra is best known as the one time manager/trainer of world title challenger Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta. Still with Gesta, he is now working in only a managerial role. Lunas will now be based out of San Diego and trained by Parra.
