The WBC presented a record 64 world title fights during 2008. “It has been a great year for the WBC in quantity and quality of fights,” said WBC President Jose Sulaiman. “It’s the best year in its history, including seventeen world title bouts in Mexico without counting Youth or female world title matches. Sulaiman also said he hopes to bring a world title fight to his hometown of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico sometime this year.
