The WBC Board of Governors has voted to approve placing WBC super middleweight world champion Andre Ward as “Champion in Recess” until the time that he has recovered from a broken hand and is ready to resume his career.
The Board of Governors has also accepted to sanction the fight between #1 ranked Anthony Dirrell and #3 ranked Nikola Sjekloca for the WBC super middleweight world championship.
