WBO warns Dzinziruk to fight
The WBO has warned former WBO jr middleweight champion Serhiy Dzinziruk that he needs to fight if he wants to retain his lofty #2 WBO rating. Dzinziruk was stripped of his WBO title last October for failure to defend his belt, and interim titlist Zaurbek Baysangurov was elevated to full champion’s status. The Ukrainian, who lost his last fight by KO against Sergio Martinez at middleweight, hasn’t fought in the 154lb division since May 2010. “Now, it is time for Mr. Serhiy Dzinziruk to comply with the guidelines of both the WBO and the ABC if he is to maintain his rating criteria,” wrote WBO President Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel to Dzinziruk through his promoter.
