Benavidez returns Saturday

Top undefeated prospect Jose Benavidez will return to the ring this Saturday in Tucson, Arizona in a new “Top Rank Live” boxing show that will take place at Casino del Sol and will be telecast in the United States on Azteca America Nework. An injury to his right hand has kept Benavidez (14-0, 12 KOs) the young prospect from Phoeniz, Arizona away from the ring, but now that he’s healthy and after a good camp in Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California, he’s ready to go. Benavides will take on Josh Sosa (10-2, 5 KOs) of Kansas Sity in an eight round welterweight bout.

In the main event, Jesus Soto Karass (24-7-3, 16 KOs) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico will battle Sid El-Harrack (10-1-1, 4 KO’s) of Henderson, Nevada in a 10 round welterweight bout.

The show will also include a WBC USA Bantamweight tilt between Hanzel Martinez (17-0, 14 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico and Felipe Rivas (12-10-1, 7 KOs) of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Martinez is managed by Antonio “El Tornado de Tijuana” Margarito. The former world champion is in Tucson and will be in his fighter’s corner tomorrow night.
