Wheatley honored in Australia

Fightnews International Editor Ray Wheatley was awarded the prestigious “Snowy Robbins” Trophy for 48 years of service to boxing at the Ashfield Catholic Club in Sydney, NSW, Australia on Saturday. “Ray Wheatley has worked with the IBF since 1992 being voted in as IBF Vice President in 2000 and is currently on the IBF Board of Directors,” said Mel Crook. “Ray also has published the World of Boxing newspaper for nineteen years which is regarded as the Bible of Boxing in Australia.” In 2009 Wheatley was awarded the Order of Australia Medal by Queen Elizabeth for services to boxing.”
