Dolphil Promotions has announced that Prizefighter super bantamweight champion ‘Big Bang’ Willie Casey (9-0, 6 KOs) makes his eagerly awaited return to the ring to fight Emiliano Salvini (13-11-1, 2 KOs) headlining the August 7th show at City West Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. According to Dolphil, the fight will be a European title eliminator. Casey was an unlikely winner of the 8-man Prizefighter boxing tournament in May, only getting an invite as a substitute for former WBC champion Wayne McCullough, who pulled out due to an injury.
“I’m keeping my feet on the ground but at the same time nothing fazes me,” says Casey. “There was talk of Wayne McCullough calling me out, Paulie Hyland was mentioned, I heard the other day Bernard Dunne would fancy a shot and I just keep saying bring them on. I’m not being cocky, I genuinely believe a World title will be mine so why wouldn’t I think I can beat these lads?”
