On February 22, cruiserweight contender Garrett Wilson, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will meet Alexander Alekseev in a IBF cruiserweight elimination fight in Galati, Romania. The winner of Wilson-Alekseev will become the mandatory challenger for the IBF cruiserweight title, currently held by Yoan Pablo Hernandez, of Germany. Wilson (13-5-1, 7 K0s) is ranked #3 by the IBF, Alekseev (23-2-1, 20 K0s) is #4. Wilson is the USBA cruiserweight champion, Alekseev, a southpaw, is the European cruiserweight champion. The card is being promoted by EC Boxpromotion. It will be televised by Eurosport.
