“To make peace, you have to be ready to go to war. I didn’t have peace of mind since my last fight with Wlodarczyk, 18 months ago. I will have my peace with the WBC belt around me on Saturday night. Diablo is a world champion, I’m not expecting an easy fight, but it won’t matter how prepared he’ll arrive in Wroclaw from his hiding spot in the Polish mountains,” said #1 WBC contender Francisco Palacios (21- 1, 13 KO).
Palacios had just completed a heavy training session in the Red Corner Gym in Wroclaw. Over the last two days he has worked on heavy loads of punching with his trainers Josue Aquilar and Gil Maldonado. On Saturday in the Hala Stulecia, he’ll attempt to take the cruiserweight belt from two-time champion Krzysztof “Diablo” Wlodarczyk (46-2, 33 KO).
“Francisco is ready. He’s stronger, hits harder using both hands, throws very quick combinations. Mentally he is also ready – very focused, knowing exactly what he has to do to confuse Wlodarczyk, make him guess what’s going on. We know exactly what to do to beat Wlodarczyk on Saturday,” said Aquilar, after his fighter had another 500+ punch session during four rounds on the pads.
