Women Headline Aug. 31 Dover Card

“Queen” Ronica Jeffrey (10-0, 1 KO) will face “Lethal” Lindsay Garbatt (7-5-1, 3 KOs) in the ten round women’s featherweight main event on Friday, August 31 at the Rollins Center inside Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, DE. In the co-feature, heavy hitting crowd favorite Anthony “The Bull” Caputo Smith (13-0, 10 KOs) will take on fellow knockout artist Kevin “Hitman” Engle” (18-6, 15 KOs) in an eight round light heavyweight bout.

“We felt the time was right to feature Ronica Jeffrey in the main event because of her enormous following and popularity at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino”, said Ed Sutor, president and CEO. “Not only is she a former Golden Gloves champion, but she has also earned her pro accolades by winning two professional titles in the Rollins Center.”

Other fighters scheduled to appear in separate bouts against opponents to be named include unbeaten light heavyweight Dennis “The Assassin” Hasson (14-0, 5 KOs), rising super middleweight “Mighty” Mike Tiberi (19-1, 7 KOs), former amateur standout Omar “Super O” Douglas (5-0, 3 KOs), super middleweight prospect John “Church Boy” Bowman (3-0-1) and smooth boxing light heavy Reuel Williams (6-1, 2 KOs).

Also, featherweight Jeffrey Dorsey, grandson of Hall of Fame former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes, is scheduled to make his pro debut on the card.

Doors open at 6:30pm. The first bout will begin at 7:30pm.
