Former world rated middleweight Garth “Woodsy from the Hood” Wood (11-3-1, 7 KOs) stopped Togasilimai Letoa (12-10-1, 7 KOs) in nine rounds to capture PABA light heavyweight title at the All Sports Arena, Alexandria, Sydney, NSW, Australia on Friday. Wood outmuscled Letoa throughout the bout and referee Brad Griffiths crowned Wood the winner in round nine. Garth Wood was the 2010 winner of the Australian Super Middleweight “Contender Series” and also in 2010 caused a major upset in stopping former WBA 168 pound champion Anthony “The Man” Mundine in five rounds by KO. In 2012 he dropped a twelve round decision to IBF #1 Sam Soliman.
