Super middleweight prospect Mark Woolnough (21-5, 8 KOs) opens the 2009 boxing season at Richmond BC’s beautiful River Rock Casino on March 27 against Steve Walker (24-20, 16 KOs). The fight will be promoted by Manny Sobral and Neil Pope’s “West Coast Promotions,” which has quickly become a big time player on the Pacific Northwest boxing scene, and it appears that Woolnough will be the first area fighter to sign a promotional deal with them.
Also slated will be a return bout between 168-pounders Junior Moar ( 5-2) and Louis Sargeant (13-13) for the newly sanctioned ‘BC Championship.’ The remainder of the show is a heavyweight extravaganza featuring several up and coming local fighters.
