Photos by WBO/Norma Nieves

WBO and president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel joined WBO champion Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. to visit kids of the Casa Laura Vicuña in Barriada Morales, Caguas, to their Thanksgiving Day donated dinner and turkeys and bringing them happiness and tips to keep away of drugs and other issues as part of the Kids Drug Free program. Vázquez Jr. (20-0-1, 17 KOs) shared with the kids and signed autographs and took photos with them, led messages of positivism. The unbeaten fighter called a bingo in the place and served food to the attendance. Casa Laura Vicuña is a nonprofit entity dedicated to bring the kids and teenagers education and prevention in their free time to 4 to 18 children, also help with tutorials, assignments, sports and artistic activities. Over 100 kids participate of the program. Besides Vázquez Jr., there were in the activity Chairman Ratings Committee and International Commissioner Luis Perez and Judge Carlos Colon.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
