Nick Garone and X-Cel Worldwide announced the signing of undefeated middleweight and former Canadian Olympian Donald “Donnie Boy” Orr (15-0, 6 KOs) to a promotional agreement. The Irish Canadian had one of the most remarkable amateur careers of any fighter ever to come out of British Columbia, Canada, finishing with a record 137-11. To qualify for the Olympics, he defeated Mariano Carrera of Argentina (who would go on to fight for the WBA world title as a pro) then slick Dominican Republic fighter Jerson Ravelo.
“Donnie Orr is a future world champion and we’re delighted he has chosen to join our stable at X-Cel Worldwide,” said a happy Garone.
Orr is currently located in Phoenix, where he works and trains under Andy Soto at LA Boxing. His debut fighting under the X-Cel promotional banner will be announced soon.
