Yannick defeats Van Nimwegen

Former IBO super middleweight challenger Serge Yannick (16-4, 7 KOs) outscored Michael Van Nimwegen (7-3, 4 KOs) in the main event bout at the Melbourne Pavillion at Flemington, Victoria, Australia on Friday. Scores 59-55, 59-56, 59-56. Yannick challenged Thomas Oosthuizen unsuccessfully for the IBO 168 pound title in 2012 suffering a six round stoppage. Serge was born in the Cameroon in 1983 but has been based in Australia since 2006. Yannick is scheduled to box WBA #11 Ben McCulloch on April 24 in Melbourne.
