Daud Cino Yordan has commented on his coming fight with Celestino Caballero for the WBA interim featherweight belt on April 10. “I have obtained Caballero’s videos for two months now. He’s experienced and skillfull, but I have learned his style and I’m sure I can defeat him. I know he’s now handled by Jeff Mayweather in the US, but I don’t think it will change his basic style. Becoming a boxing world champion has become my obsession since I was a kid, and I don’t want to waste this wonderful opportunity.”
Yordan also sends his support to his former foe, Robert Guerrero, who’s now supporting his wife Casey in her fight against leukemia. “I can feel his pain, as I understand that family is the biggest support in a boxer’s career. I met Robert’s wife before we fought last year, and she was so wonderful. Please send my biggest support to Guerrero’s family.”
Yordan-Guerrero took place in March of last year and ended as a “no contest” in the second round due to Guerrero’s cut.
Yordan has not yet decided when he will leave for the US but he said that he shall arrive in the US probably around 3 weeks before April 10.
