Yuri Foreman Update

Undefeated WBA super welterweight champion and future rabbi Yuri Foreman will serve as a Grand Marshall of the 2010 annual Salute to Israel Parade, the world’s largest public gathering in celebration of Israel, celebrating the 62nd anniversary of Israel with a spectacular parade featuring song, dance, floats and props. The Parade is scheduled to take place this Sunday (May 23) from 11AM to 4 PM; starting at 57th Street on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue; rain or shine; with close to 1,000,000 spectators expected to attend. Foreman is expected to start riding up the Fifth Avenue parade route at 1 PM. Foreman (28-0, 8 KOs) defends his title against three-time world champion Miguel Cotto (34-2, 27 KOs) on June 5, in the main event of “Stadium Slugfest” — the inaugural brawl at Yankee Stadium.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
