Zaleta defeats Noriega

Mexican super flyweight prospect Victor “Nene” Zaleta (18-2, 9 KOs) recovered from a fifth round knockdown to win a split decision over compatriot Daniel “Chato” Noriega (20-7, 9 KOs) Saturday night at the Auditorio Municipal in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. All three judges scored it 95-94, with Zaleta ahead on two of the cards.
In the co-feature, unbeaten jr featherweight Edgar Monárrez (9-0, 9 KOs) won by TKO over Rafael Cerrillo (4-7, 4 KOs) who didn’t come out for round six after a fierce fight.
