Zamora-Knight collide for WBC female title

In an elite level women’s boxing match, Mexican WBC light flyweight world champion Ibeth “La Roca” Zamora will defend her title against the “Mexican Destroyer” Ava Knight from the USA on Saturday at the Agustín Millán Gym in Toluca, Mexico State on an card billed as “Orgullo Mexiquense” (Mexican Pride) promoted by Promociones del Pueblo and broadcast on Televisa.

Zamora, the only Mexican female to win world titles in different categories will face the hardest fight of her career against one of the best female boxers in the world in Ava Knight, who has defeated several Mexican favorites including Mariana Juarez and Arely Muciño among others. Zamora has faced the best of the división includes champs: Ana Arrazola, Yessica Chavez, Esmeralda Moreno, Nancy Franco, Yessica Bopp, Etsuko Tada, Irma Sánchez, and Anabel Ortiz.

This Saturday also includes super bantamweight Rey Vargas taking on Yuki Murai and unbeaten former Olympian Oscar Molina.
